BTP Master Plan

The Butler County Airport Authority and the Airport Manager, Stephanie Saracco, would like to invite comments on the draft Master Plan for the Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport. The airport authority initiated the development of an airport Master Plan in conjunction with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Pennsylvania’s PennDOT Bureau of Aviation to outline the long-term vision and development strategy for the airport over the next twenty years, including anticipated aviation demand and guidance recommendations for future developments and infrastructure needs.

Please note:
-in the bottom box of the preferred alternate, the “Development Program” is by years and by color;
-the future contract control tower is shown on the plans, but it has not yet been sited and the location is very likely to change from what is shown;
-the FAA requires that anything, for which federal grant or apportionment money is spent, must be shown on the approved Master Plan, so development shown is not funded nor sure but the plan shows what could be;
-having a plan ensures that when development does happen, the airport’s limited space will be used efficiently and meet the airport’s long-term goals and needs.
